Cupcake liner Lights

I've seen this idea somewhere...and of course, can't remember where. I've got to stop doing that. Maybe I should learn to bookmark things :P
ANYWAY, Real Simple has this as a holiday idea. You could really use it for any holiday tho. I was so sad to take down my Christmas lights (especially since it took me forEVER to figure out how to make my light timer come on on time). So I decided to put up some patio lights. Target has some cute patio lights but I think I can do better than $15.

I already had a short strand of lights and today I found some cute cupcake liners at Michael's for $1.
I started by cutting an X in the bottom of the liners with an exacto knife.
 Like so:      ;)
Then, Just slip it over one of the lights.

I waited till I wrapped it around my railing before I put all of the liners on so I wouldn't knock any off.
I didn't put one on every light. I ended up putting one about every 2 or 3 lights.
I love how it turned out. So cute! We'll see how it holds up when it rains. But the good thing is, if they do come off, I have lots of leftover cups :)

  2. That’s a pretty cute idea! But just make sure that your light is LED. If it’s not LED, it can be damaged easily and it can possibly cause fire anytime because of the cupcake paper liner you decorated there. Safety first! ->Allison Shallenberger
